VST Precision Portafilter Baskets

The product of empirical research and a collaboration between La Marzocco and VST (of Extract Mojo fame), VST Precision Portafilter Baskets are the latest in high-end accessories for commercial and prosumer espresso machines. VST Precision Portafilter Baskets help promote consistency from shot-to-shot and uniformity from basket to basket. Each basket is guaranteed for one year and comes with individual documentation of the accuracy of the basket's hole cut and pattern. Fits most standard 58mm portafilter.

While developing the VST Espresso Refractometer in 2009 and 2009, Vince Fedele observed significant inconsistencies among filter baskets supplied with new espresso machines, as detailed in an article Fedele wcrote in the April/May 2011 issue of Barista Magazine. Using a new optical measuring system, the VST coffee refractometer, and new fabrication methods, Fedele explained that VST developed incredibly consistent baskets optimized for narrow capacity (e.g. 21-23, 17-19 grams). "Every now and then an advancement in coffee technology comes along that is truly a milestone and the Vince's basket technology is just that," notes Customer Support Manager Brian Ludviksen. Fits most standard 58mm portafilter and is the only basket we use in our Training Center machines.
